It seems that the series should be played from the first instance, moreover because the quality got worse over time. Dark Side is so garbage I legitimately question if anyone has ever bothered to finish it. In Dark Side, they repeated the hero-rush tactic. They also added an early boss that can only be no-lossed with a particular composition and strategy. To exit the island, you needed to complete a 7-party hero rush, and the bosses were given spells such as poison skull, astral whip and magic poleaxe spells which are guaranteed to kill whatever they target. In Warriors of the North, they made a "tutorial island" where every single creature was set in stone and the spell/artifact pool was extremely limited. They guarded these maps with strong parties of creatures that had a very low aggro threshold, meaning kiting them away was extremely hard. In Crossworlds they made every area into an island and forced the player to gather maps to allow travel to the other areas. The developers really didn't like how people would do Impossible No-Loss run throughs of The Legend. Now those "simple" creatures are all incredibly complex and it's really quite tiring reviewing every decision you make in every turn of every battle, because their complexity requires more attention from you. Each game decided to give those creatures something new. ![]() Creatures in The Legend had 1-3 Active + Passive abilities. The same applies to the creatures themselves. Originally posted by Woudo:The same applies to them as well.ĭark Side's spell list is ridiculously bloated because it features most of the the spells of three entire games before it, plus a lot of former spirit/companion abilities were reintroduced by turning them into spells.
